Yes. If you're a producing agent who wants to grow your business, keep more of what you earn, and be part of a brokerage that invests in your success, eXp Realty is worth considering. As an ICON Agent and Team Lead of the Nikki Wolfe Group, I've built my business through relationships, mentorship, and a platform designed to help agents thrive. With industry-leading technology, training, and a collaborative culture, eXp offers opportunities that extend far beyond the traditional brokerage model.
Every eXp agent starts at an 80/20 split. You pay 20% to eXp until you reach a $16,000 annual cap — after that, you keep 100% of your commission for the rest of the year. Top producers who complete 20 additional transactions after capping earn their entire $16,000 cap back in eXp company stock through the ICON Award. There are no franchise fees, no desk fees, and no royalty fees.
Revenue share at eXp is income paid to you from eXp's company dollar — not from your agents' commissions — when agents you introduce to the company close transactions. You can earn revenue share across seven tiers of agents. For every agent you personally sponsor, you can earn up to $2,800 per year. Unlike a traditional brokerage where only the broker-owner profits from agent production, eXp shares that profit back with the agents who helped build the company.
Yes, and it is one of the most underrated parts of the eXp model. Through revenue share, you earn monthly income from the production of agents in your network — whether you are working that day or not. I have built 11 streams of income inside eXp, including production, revenue share, eXp stock, the ICON Award, and training programs. The key is being intentional about who you bring into your network and supporting their growth.
Your eXp revenue share is fully transferable and can be willed to your heirs. As long as the agents in your network continue producing, your revenue share continues — even if you stop selling real estate. This is one of the most powerful exit strategies available to any real estate agent. At most traditional brokerages, the day you stop selling is the day your income stops. At eXp, the income you built keeps paying.
Choose a sponsor who is actively building a business, not just recruiting agents. Ask yourself two questions: Are they leading the kind of business I want to build? And will they truly be available when I need guidance? Your sponsor should have a proven track record, a strong mentorship system, and a genuine commitment to helping agents succeed. As the Team Lead of the Nikki Wolfe Group and an ICON Agent with eXp Realty, mentoring and supporting other agents is one of the most rewarding parts of my career. I'm passionate about helping agents grow their confidence, strengthen their businesses, and build lasting success through authentic relationships, hands-on support, and proven strategies.
Look for three things: production credibility, a real support system, and alignment with how you want to build. A sponsor with a large network but no time for you is worse than a smaller sponsor who is fully invested in your growth. The best uplines offer structured training, accountability, and direct access — not just a name on your application. Ask to see their training calendar, their agent results, and how they communicate with their network before you sign.

Yes. eXp Realty offers a team structure designed to support teams of every size while allowing you to maintain your own brand, culture, and leadership. As the Team Lead of the Nikki Wolfe Group, Nikki has built a collaborative environment where agents are empowered to grow their businesses while benefiting from the technology, training, and opportunities eXp provides. In addition to helping agents succeed, eXp offers unique benefits like revenue share and stock opportunities, creating additional paths for long-term financial growth that aren't available through many traditional brokerages.
Yes. Your team moves with you. eXp has a team program that allows you to maintain your team name, your branding, and your agent roster. Your agents join eXp under you and you receive a reduced cap structure for your team. Many team leaders find that moving to eXp actually strengthens their team culture because the shared ownership model — stock, revenue share, and ICON awards — aligns everyone's incentives in a way traditional brokerages cannot match.
No. A pyramid scheme pays people for recruiting, regardless of whether any real product or service is sold. eXp's revenue share is paid only when agents in your network close real estate transactions — meaning income is tied entirely to production, not recruitment. In fact, the traditional brokerage model — where broker-owners profit from agent production while agents receive nothing in return — more closely resembles a top-heavy structure. eXp gave back over $121 million to agents in a single year through revenue share and stock awards.
No. You can build an entirely production-based business at eXp and never sponsor a single agent. The commission split, cap structure, and ICON Award are all based purely on your own production. Revenue share is optional — but once you understand how it works, most agents choose to participate because it costs nothing extra and pays you from eXp's company dollar, not from your agents' commissions. You are already referring people to your brokerage. At eXp, you get paid for it.
At a traditional brokerage, you pay desk fees, franchise fees, and royalties — and the broker-owner keeps the profit from your production. At eXp, there are no desk fees, no franchise fees, and no royalties. You own stock in the company. You earn revenue share from agents you introduce. You have access to 60+ hours of live training every week. And when you cap, you keep 100% of your commission. The difference is simple: at a traditional brokerage, you build their wealth. At eXp, you build yours.
The agents who build lasting wealth in real estate do not rely on production alone. They layer income: production income, revenue share from a growing network, eXp company stock, the ICON Award, and coaching or training programs. I have built 11 streams of income and the ones that pay me whether I am working or not — revenue share and stock — are the ones that changed my financial life. The key is joining a platform that makes all of this accessible without requiring you to start a separate business.
The ICON Award is eXp's recognition for top-producing agents. To earn it, you must cap (pay $16,000 to eXp) and then close 20 additional transactions in the same anniversary year. When you achieve ICON status, eXp gives you your entire $16,000 cap back in company stock. This means top producers effectively pay nothing to eXp for the year. Many agents in my network earn the ICON Award annually, turning their cap into a stock-building strategy rather than a cost.
Most real estate agents never retire — they expire. The moment they stop producing, their income stops. The agents who retire with passive income build it intentionally through revenue share programs, investment properties, and equity ownership. eXp's revenue share model is one of the few brokerage-level tools that creates genuine passive income tied to other agents' production. It is transferable to heirs and continues as long as your network produces. I built my revenue share network alongside my production, and it is now one of my most reliable income streams.
Most team leaders scale by adding more people and more pressure — and then wonder why they are exhausted. The real answer is not more agents. It is better systems, the right people in the right seats, and a leader who has done the inner work to stop being the ceiling of their own organization. I built a team to 800+ homes a year and burned out doing it. Then I did the work — Working Genius, somatic therapy, leadership coaching — and the team grew faster after I got out of my own way. Scaling without burnout starts with you, not your org chart.
